Working Together in Missions & Church Planting

I have been thinking about the power of working together in missions and church planting this week.

Our church sent a team to Eastern Europe in an area where we have been serving since 2007. As part of the ministry there, our partners have a wonderful camp ministry that reaches thousands of young people each year, primarily from families who are not yet believers in Christ. So many sacrifices have been made by churches and long-standing partners to make this camp a reality. The primary ministry operates it, in concert with many others, and we get to be a part of it. People from our church give to sponsor campers, as well as to support our teams serving there. All of this is a collective work of like-minded believers to do kingdom work. None of us could accomplish anything of this magnitude alone, but together it is possible for the glory of God.

Meanwhile, back at home, a church plant we are partnering with in our region has undertaken a massive renovation effort on the facility where the church is being launched. There is much history with the location, and many sacrifices have been made through the years for there to be a facility to renovate. In recent months, people from our church have volunteered on multiple occasions to clean the property up in anticipation of the renovation. This week, a sister church from another part of our state, descended with a large team of people. Among them were many incredible skills, and they accomplished an amount of work in a week that is hard to comprehend. Soon, another sister church from out of state will arrive to do additional work and help prep for the launch of the church plant. Again, none of us could accomplish anything of this magnitude alone, but together it is possible for the glory of God.

God’s people are at their best when they work together. This is how God designed us. I am excited about the future of missions and church planting, and continuing to work with others who have a vision for seeing lost people saved, saved people discipled, and God glorified through it all!
